Week of May 18th - 22nd
a sight like this outside one's front door will wake
ya up in the mornin'
going way below frost line with the new water 'n sewer
pipes
filling with clean sand
more panking
we've agreed that it would be cool to have a public
swimming pool out front - guessing they're down 10-12 feet below
the old street level in some spots
and the diving board could go right where he's standing...
meanwhile it looks like they're getting things ready
for the blacktop sub-layer down in front of the Ambassador
(we were told the old fashioned pavers will go onto
of black-top to help support the weight of semi-trucks, etc.)
digging has moved down Shelden more... this is in front
of Wicker 'n Willow (on the corner, next to Joey's Seafood)
we didn't smell anything bad, so we are assuming that
truck is just pulling water up outta the hole
Bacco Construction works carefully and friendly - which
is nice as that actually encourages folks to hang around more
and watch...
we've learned to like the "front porch" affect
the boardwalk and railings is lending to the downtown right now
- everyone's slowing up and hanging out more
Jon spied curbs going in down the street - had to check
them out
at the time of this pic, you could take Pewabic up
to Montezuma... not the following week tho (follow link at bottom
and you'll see what I mean)
...but you had to wait for the construction guys to
get back in the dirt
since they dug things up in front of Wicker 'n Willow
the access to the upper parking deck from Shelden has been cut
off... so we're telling folks to take Lakeshore Drive and then
the ramp up to the upper parking deck
where you can park behind us - and use our back door entrance
(there are guys working near the ramp down there, but it is open!)
the view down the street just before the guys clocked
out for Memorial Day Weekend

worth!!)
